If you are struggling to get this product working, I really recommend contacting Owlet for help, just make sure you c0999 and don't use the app chat function or email address! They said that the Owlet email customer support was meant to refer me to them straight away but for some reason they didn't. I searched the website and found an Australian customer service phone number, these guys were much more helpful! Straight away they told me that they would replace the sensor and posted out a new one. I was upset that they prioritised their US customers over the rest of the world. Read more get the replacement for $60, however I am not and would have to pay the full price. Customer Support told me that if I am a US resident I can. The sensor is $179 to replace in Australia. They said it is correct and that my sensor needs replacing. I contacted customer service email help through the app and sent photos of the sock placement. It can sometimes be connected, but generally gives a reading of "sock placement issue", the reconnects and drops out again. This product comes with a 12 month warranty, however 18 months after activating the monitor the sensor stopped working properly.
